		  <description>Stewards of Children  is a three&#45;hour interactive session designed to educate adults about child sexual abuseVolunteer mentors in our Grizzlies Mentoring Alliance programs are invited to attend the Stewards of Children training presented by the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. This is a three&#45;hour interactive session designed by Darkness to Light, an international organization that seeks to protect children by educating adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Two sessions are scheduled – Thursday, February 16, at 5:30pm, and Saturday, February 25, at 9am. You can register to attend the session most convenient for you on this calendar entry or the listing for February 16. Class size is limited to 35 to promote the most productive interaction and discussion. If registration numbers are larger than we expect, we will schedule additional sessions to accommodate everyone who wants to participate in this important training experience.

Please note that the $10 materials fee is payable to Memphis CAC and not to the Grizzlies Mentoring Alliance and will be collected at the event.

		  <title>For Men Only: The Challenges of Mentoring Young Men</title>

		  <description>An informative interactive session for volunteer mentos led by an experienced mentor and mentoring advocateThe wonderful gentlemen serving as mentors in our Grizzlies Mentoring Alliance programs are invited to meet for a special session to discuss the challenges of mentoring young men. Our friend and colleague Clint Anderson, of United Way of the Mid&#45;South will lead the discussion. A long&#45;time advocate of mentoring, Clint works with Youth United Way and he has mentored several young men over the years. He has a lot of insights and observations to share to help us learn to connect better with the boys we mentor.

The session will be held on Thursday evening, February 9, from 5:30 to 7pm. Refreshments will be served, so it’s important to respond and reserve a spot. To register or ask questions, send a note to mentor@grizzlies.com with your contact information and the name of the mentoring program you serve. A confirmation with directions to the location will follow. Save the date and register now!

Guest panelists include Phyllis Kyles,&amp;nbsp; Assistant Principal at the Kingsbury Career &amp;amp; Technology Center; Janice Williams, Guidance Counselor; and Alfred Garrett, Literacy Mid&#45;South and PAMP Mentor. Panelists and teens will share their insights and experiences with bullying.
